Kheema or mince can be made with any meat you prefer. It is extremely versatile.Kheema tastes delicious with Chapatis or Parathas.

Ingredients:
  • Minced Meat 1/2 kg
  • Potatoes 2,cubed
  • Onions 2, large (thinly sliced)
  • Tomatoes 3, medium (roughly sliced)
  • Ginger and Garlic Paste: 1 1/2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Red Chilli Powder 1tbsp  or as to taste
  • Turmeric Powder 1tsp
  • Coriander Powder 1 1/2 tsp
  • Tomato Ketchup 2 tbsp
  • Green Cardamom 3-4
  • Cloves 4
  • Green Chillies 3-4, pricked
  • Coriander Leaves 1/2 bunch, finely chopped
  • Oil: 1 cup
Method:
  • In a deep cooking pan, heat oil and fry thinly sliced onion till it gets soft and transparent.
  • Stir in the cloves, green cardamoms along with ginger and ginger pastes. Now fry all till onions turn light golden brown.
  • Add in minced meat, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and coriander powder. Stir fry till minced meat loses it’s pink color. Add enough water that covers minced meat. Put on medium heat and cook till minced meat is half done.
  • Now add potatoes and tomatoes. If required, then add a little more water so that potatoes gets cooked. Stir, taste and fix salt at this point. Cover and cook till potatoes are almost done.
  • Now add in tomato ketchup and green chillies. Stir and cover on medium heat so that water is well absorbed and potatoes are nicely cooked. Lastly, stir in the coriander leaves and switch off the flame.
  • Serve hot with Paratha or Chapati or Naan.
