Here is the super simple upma recipe that you can have for breakfast. It’s very delicious and easy to make.
Ingredients:- 1 tbsp Channa dal
- 2 tbsp Peanuts
- 1 Onion small -chopped
- 1 Tomato -chopped(optinal)
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 8 Curry leaves
- 2 Green chillies-sliced
- Hing -a pinch
- 1 Ginger slice-chopped or 1 tsp Ginger and Garlic paste
- 1 tbsp Oil or Butter
- Salt to taste
- 1 cup Sooji/Semolina/Upma Rava
- 2 cups Water
- In a pan add oil,add mustard seeds,cumin seeds once they splutter add channa dal ,peanuts and saute till they are cooked.
- Now add chopped ginger,onions,chillies, curry leaves, hing,salt,turmeric powder and saute them.Next add water and bring it to boil.
- Next add upma rawa/semolina/sooji slowly stirring continously so to avoid lumps and mix well.When all the moisture is absorbed cover for 5 minutes and serve hot with chutney or pickle.
